Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D – Post Baccalaureate) is a 3-year professional doctoral program designed for B.Pharmacy graduates who aspire to advance their careers in clinical pharmacy and patient-centered healthcare. The program focuses on developing advanced competencies in pharmacotherapeutics, clinical pharmacy practice, patient counseling, drug information services, and evidence-based medication management.

The curriculum integrates academic learning with extensive hospital-based clinical training, enabling students to participate in ward rounds, case discussions, therapeutic interventions, and direct patient care activities. Course Structure – Pharm.D (PB)

The Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) program spans three academic years, comprising two years of academic instruction and clinical training followed by one year of compulsory internship/residency training in a recognized hospital.

Students receive comprehensive training through theory classes, clinical postings, ward rounds, case presentations, seminars, and patient care activities under the guidance of experienced faculty and healthcare professionals.

Minimum Attendance: 80% attendance is mandatory in theory and practical/clinical training components as prescribed under the regulations.

Minimum Pass Marks: Students must secure the minimum pass requirements prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and JNTUA regulations for theory and practical examinations.

Clinical Postings: Mandatory training in various hospital departments to develop competencies in patient care, medication review, and therapeutic monitoring.

Internship/Residency: The third year consists of a compulsory one-year internship/residency in an approved hospital with rotations through major clinical specialties.

Project Work: Students undertake project work, seminars, and viva-voce examinations as part of the academic requirements of the program.

Students fulfilling all academic and internship requirements within the stipulated period are awarded the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D – Post Baccalaureate) degree.
