Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) is a 6-year professional doctoral program in Pharmacy, comprising 5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship/residency training in an approved hospital. The program is designed to prepare students as competent clinical pharmacists capable of delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care.

The curriculum emphasizes clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapeutics, patient counseling, medication safety, drug information services, and evidence-based healthcare. Course Structure – Pharm.D

The Pharm.D program spans six academic years, consisting of five years of classroom instruction and practical training, followed by one year of compulsory internship/residency in a recognized hospital. Students receive comprehensive training through theory classes, laboratory practicals, clinical postings, ward rounds, case discussions, seminars, and patient care activities.

Minimum Attendance: 80% attendance separately in theory and practical classes for each subject.

Minimum Pass Marks: As prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) for theory and practical examinations.

Clinical Postings: Mandatory training in various hospital departments to provide hands-on experience in patient care and medication management.

Internship/Residency: One-year compulsory internship with rotations in major clinical specialties under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

Project Work: Students undertake a research project along with seminar presentation and viva-voce examination as part of the curriculum.

Students fulfilling all academic and internship requirements within the stipulated period are awarded the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.
